So I have a Brownie camera from the 40's or 50's and i just bought some film for it (which I had to search for because no one makes 620 film anymore) : ( Does anyone have any tips for developing? : )
I went to the Orange County Museum of Art yesterday to see "The Moving Image, Scan To Screen, Pixel To Projection". The media exhibited was all from their permanent collection, so there was media from the 70's ike John Baldessari's "I Will Not Make Anymore Boring Art", and then there were a few newer pieces like Robin Rhodes "Color Chart". They were all amazing, although I have to say that Bill Viola's "The Reflecting Pool" was definitely my favorite. I watched the 7 minute reel like 3 times in a row. : ) I went with my cousin who had never been to an art gallery before and he thought the exhibit was pretty awsome!
I went to the Sunset Strip Music Festival last weekend. Other than seeing tons of dreads : ) and half-naked women : ( they had both odd and awsome work displayed. Heres one thing I didn't understand......all it did was blind us when the sun hit it...
Yesterday I went to Disney's D23 Expo. Met a lot of amazing artists and got some autographs, but the best work I saw was the Art Of the Disney Princess series. I am definitely a fan of child icons being interpreted differently : ) The official book comes out next month:
Here are some of my favorite pieces throughout the day : )
There was also a Donald vs. Mickey series! It was pretty funny : )
I went to the panel discussion yesterday for GLAMFA, and it was interesting to hear some different views and points of interest. I mean personally I'm not gonna continue into the masters program, but it's cool to see all the different work of these students who continued into higher education.. good for them!
